Our client is hiring a Senior Civil Engineer that will provide day-to-day support and possible management of projects, as well as interact with current and potential clients and regulatory agencies. This role will be supporting the clients growing federal team int he VA Beach area.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage projects and proposals to meet client and regulatory needs.
• Work closely with the clients and regulatory agencies as part of a multi-discipline team.
• Develop project scope of work documents and project plans that include an analysis of benefit, cost, work schedule, and any related risks.
• Lead design team in developing project drawings, technical specifications, schedule, and bid tabs.
• Monitor and communicate project related issues, scope changes variances and contingencies that may arise during the construction of projects.
• Develop innovative and cost-effective solutions to construction related conflicts and RFIs.
• Meet with and effectively communicate with project partners, project stakeholders and public to maintain strong relationships.
• Manage and coach project teams by providing technical advice and assisting in problem solving at an advanced level.
• Coordinates project activities with government regulatory or other agencies.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A 4-year or advanced degree civil engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer
• Minimum of five (8) years of professional experience
• Documented experience in the design and management of federal (UFC based) projects or in delivery of civil engineering design for of federal contracts.
• Experience with NAVFAC ATLANTIC, NAVFAC Washington or MIDLANT is considered highly desirable.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Familiarity with permit application development and coordination for federal, state and local agencies.
