Responsibilities:
Own the design and validation of our next generation energy storage system
Prepare drawings of various mechanical parts, electrical wiring harnesses and schematics derived from specifications and product requirements
Fabricate and assemble prototype parts
Create test plans, conduct lab tests and organize results into test reports
Design lab equipment to achieve product testing objectives
Drive 3rd party compliance testing
Support the cross functional team for new product introduction
Diagnosis and resolve manufacturing and quality issues for parts and assemblies in production
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
5+ years’ experience in electronics system design
Experience designing Lithium-Ion Battery systems
Understanding of LiFePO4 battery chemistry
Proven experience validating battery systems through lab testing
Battery Management System (BMS) control and validation experience
- Experience with high voltage: 400V+ and high current 300A+ equipment
- Knowledge of UL1973 and UL9540 standards
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bonus Points:
Master’s degree in Engineering
10+ years’ experience in electronics system design
Successful certification of battery systems through UL1973 and UL9540
Experience in Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment product design
Successfully production implementation of mechanical, electrical and thermal solutions for energy storage systems
3D CAD design expertise and understanding of the applications of ASME Y14.5
Design experience using PTC Creo Parametric and Schematic software packages
