Senior Network Security Engineer-Atlanta, GA (Hybrid)

Our IT network is built on cutting-edge technologies including Azure Virtual Network, Palo Alto firewalls, Meraki hardware, and F5 load balancers. As we transition and scale, we are looking for a talented Senior Network Security Engineer to join our team and help drive forward key initiatives.
Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled Senior Network Security Engineer with strong expertise in Azure and network infrastructure to manage and optimize our hybrid cloud network. The ideal candidate will be Azure-certified, have hands-on experience with Meraki, Palo Alto, F5, and be able to manage day-to-day network operations while taking on complex projects. You will work closely with a team of offshore resources and help mentor them, while taking on higher-level responsibilities as we continue to evolve our network.
Key Responsibilities:
Day-to-Day Network Operations:
- Oversee the daily network operations, ensuring the offshore team has the support and guidance they need. This includes reviewing nightly reports, checking for anomalies, and performing health checks on the infrastructure.
Firewall & Security Management:
- Ensure that firewall rules are correctly configured and optimized in Palo Alto and Meraki firewalls. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network security.
Knowledge Transfer & Mentoring:
- Develop runbooks and other documentation to facilitate knowledge transfer to offshore network resources. Work closely with them to help them get up to speed on day-to-day tasks, and ensure they are proficient in handling routine network maintenance.
Azure Networking Management:
- Manage the Azure Virtual Network infrastructure, ensuring connectivity between cloud and on-premises systems. Apply expertise in Azure to troubleshoot network issues, configure network resources, and ensure optimal performance.
Network Hardware Management:
- Perform changes, updates, and maintenance on Meraki, Palo Alto, and F5 hardware, ensuring everything operates efficiently and securely.
Project Involvement:
- Lead and contribute to various projects, including the ongoing transition to new corporate WAN infrastructure, switching to different providers, and updating hardware stacks (e.g., Command Link migration).
Collaboration & Reporting:
- Regularly check in with offshore team members, discuss network changes, review reports, and troubleshoot any issues that arise. Maintain strong communication with all stakeholders to ensure alignment and smooth operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Network Security Engineer, with a strong focus on Azure networking (Azure certifications preferred).
- Extensive experience with network infrastructure technologies including Palo Alto firewalls, Meraki systems, F5 load balancers, and Azure virtual networks.
- Experience managing both on-premise and cloud-based network resources.
Technical Expertise:
- Deep understanding of cloud networking, particularly within Azure.
- Experience with virtualized Palo Alto firewalls, F5 load balancers, and Meraki network devices.
- Familiarity with corporate WAN technologies and transitioning network providers.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Certifications:
- Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Network Engineer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are strongly preferred.
- Relevant certifications in network technologies (e.g., Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer, Meraki certifications, F5 certifications) are a plus.
