The Director of Project Management is a salary position, subject to days, evening meetings and weekends. This position is considered to be on call at all times.
This position oversees and provides quality control on all construction, utility engineering, and Civil City improvement projects. Responsible for the oversight of all rehab and maintenance of streets, alleys, and curbs. Works closely with the Redevelopment Director, Utility Director, and General Foreman to ensure all projects are progressing properly and efficiently. Direct and monitor all project testing procedures and results. Monitor and track the status of all construction, utility, engineering, and maintenance projects and provide reports at weekly administration staff meetings. Monitor and track the status of all grant awarded projects, including on-site inspections and draw application approvals. Oversee the Construction, Planning & Zoning Department. Supervise and direct city personnel for small in-house construction projects. Take directives, written and verbal, from the Mayor and/or designee. Must be able to get along well with others, follow instructions and perform all related duties as assigned.
High School diploma or equivalent required. Must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the commercial construction Industries. Certified in OSHA 30. Construction Management Accreditation and Blueprint Certification preferred. Engineering experience preferred.
Must have a valid Driver’s License. Must be 18 years or older. Must be familiar with local building codes. Must be OSHA 30 Certified, or be able to obtain within 90 days, and have extensive knowledge and experience in construction supervision, construction oversight and project management. Must provide proof of large project management. Must have office management skills.
May be required to take a physical exam. While performing the duties of this job, the employees is frequently required to use hands and arms. Must be able to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, bend, sit, stand or walk for long periods of time. Must be able to lift and pull up to 50 pounds.
