Position Summary:
As a Line Cook at Snorklebox inside the From Here On Food Hall in the historic Old Post Office Building, you will play a key role in the launch of a new concept. Working Monday through Friday from 3 pm to 9 pm, with weekends off, you will be responsible for preparing and executing menu items with precision, maintaining high-quality standards, and contributing to an energetic and professional kitchen environment.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Set up, execute, and maintain menu items on a station as directed, promptly and before each service.
- Communicate regularly about any product or ordering needs.
- Follow directions to manage all aspects of your station effectively.
- Prep food products according to proper rotation (first in, first out), checking for quality and preventing food waste.
- Perform correct cooking techniques to the highest standard.
- Maintain uniform cleanliness and proper attire at all times.
- Unpack and stock kitchen deliveries, and complete assigned cleaning duties as needed.
About You:
- 1+ years of cooking experience in a professional kitchen.
- Must have a valid Food Handler Certification.
- Exemplary knife skills and knowledge of cooking terms, techniques, and recipes.
- Understanding of how to use, operate, and care for all kitchen equipment.
- Positive, collaborative, and committed to healthy communication and quality work.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and recipes.
- Strong communication skills to engage with customers and fellow employees effectively.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Compensation : $18 - $20/hour, depending on experience (DOE)
