Smoke Jazz Club is hiring!
Smoke Jazz Club is one of New York City's premier live music venues. Opened in 1999, Smoke is renowned for world-class programming of accessible, timeless jazz featuring legendary performers. Smoke also offers an excellent menu of classic American cuisine.
Our small team is seeking an expeditor to:
- Oversee the kitchen pass and runners during service
- Track timing on all tickets, properly course food, and check plates for presentation, accuracy, and quality before they are served
- Maintain a clean, organized, efficient, and stocked expo station
- Listen and communicate clearly and effectively with the entire team
- Stay cool and professional in a very high stress level position
- Coordinate and manage the flow of dishes between the kitchen and dining room by communicating effectively with chefs, runners, line cooks, servers, and managers
- Assist with special requests or modifications to orders as needed
- Get along with the team-we are nice, please be nice too!
This is a full time position. Smoke is open 5 days a week, Wednesday - Sunday.
Experience with pre-theater dining is a plus
Health Department certification is a plus
Ability to speak English and Spanish is a plus
Line Cook experience is a plus
