Role: Fleet Manager

Location: Florida (Onsite)

The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient management, operation, and maintenance of an organization's vehicle fleet. This includes ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, optimizing fleet performance, and managing budgets related to transportation and logistics. The role requires excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Fleet Operations Management :
• Oversee the acquisition, maintenance, and replacement of vehicles.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize fleet performance and minimize operational costs.
• Monitor fuel consumption, mileage, and efficiency metrics to improve cost-effectiveness.
• Maintenance and Repairs :
• Schedule regular vehicle maintenance and inspections to ensure safety and reliability.
• Collaborate with mechanics and service providers for repairs and servicing.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records for all vehicles.
• Compliance and Safety :
• Ensure fleet operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Implement safety protocols and conduct regular safety training for drivers.
• Investigate accidents and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
• Team Management :
• Supervise and support drivers, dispatchers, and other team members.
• Develop schedules and routes to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
• Handle driver performance evaluations and provide ongoing training.
• Budgeting and Reporting :
• Develop and manage the fleet budget, including expenses for fuel, maintenance, and insurance.
• Analyze fleet performance data and prepare reports for senior management.
• Recommend cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety.
• Technology Utilization :
• Utilize fleet management software to track vehicles, routes, and performance metrics.
• Implement GPS tracking and telematics systems for real-time monitoring.

Qualifications

• Education :
• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, transportation, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
• Experience :
• Proven experience in fleet management or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, transportation laws, and safety standards.
• Skills :
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Proficiency in fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
