Overview :

Jomar Valve, a manufacturer and distributor of innovative plumbing, industrial and HVAC components is seeking a Product Development Engineer. The successful candidate would possess an education and job experience in the Mechanical Engineering Field. They will have an educational background and working knowledge of plumbing and HVAC systems. This role works closely with all departments. Hybrid remote work is made available upon completion of first 90 days successfully.

Responsibilities :

• Lead the product launch team as the process owner
• Communicate with launch team members to discuss priorities, timelines, deliverables, and obstacles
• Develop a launch strategy with proposed deadlines and milestones for each launch product and team member
• Establish and maintain launch priority based on feedback from outside sales and keep them informed with regular status updates
• Coordinate with team members throughout launch process to ensure everyone is on track and providing support when team faces challenges
• Track the progress of team members in various departments to ensure tasks are completed on time
• Gain knowledge on the abilities, schedules, and resource levels of each team member, anticipating bottlenecks or other issues early on to be able to provide support
• Analyze outcomes of each product launch to determine what parts of the process works and where an improvement is needed
• Successfully collaborate with different vendors by defining the scope and deliverables, monitoring and measuring their performance, and managing risks and contingencies.
• Implement industry best practices for successful product launches
• Manage product certifications for existing and launch products

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical preferred
• A minimum of 5 years’ industry experience with product launch
• Demonstrate successful product launches (examples required)
• Educational and practical knowledge of plumbing and HVAC systems preferred
• Strong technical and mechanical aptitude
• Strong technical writing skills
• Effective communication and time management skills
• Ability to interact and connect with people at all levels of the organization
• Highly attentive to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational skills
• Ambitious nature, independent thinker, self-starter

Summary of primary functions:

25%- Collaboration with product launch team

• Lead bi-weekly product launch meetings
• Utilize Microsoft Project to track projects and timelines
• Assign team responsibilities within the Microsoft Project Planner
• Track project status’ in Microsoft Project Planner
• Determine departmental resource needs and fulfill necessities

20%- Vendor communications

• Coordinate with vendors to request product information
• Respond to vendor inquiries on new and existing products

30%- Product Launch

• Research competitor offerings
• Coordinate technical documentation with vendors
• Submit certification applications
• Prototype samples review
• Ensure that drawing files are developed .dwg,.stp, .rfa
• Production batch verification
• Develop IO&M to support the product
• Develop and present internal training for new and existing products

25%- Technical Support

• Monitor TechServ inbox
• Miscellaneous inquiries with inside and outside sales team
• Process Review and opportunities for optimization
