Storied French luxury department store, Printemps, is preparing to open its first ever US location at One Wall Street in the heart of the Financial District.
Located in the historic 50-story landmark, Printemps will have five distinct food and beverage concepts ranging from a casual cafe to a fine dining restaurant. Food and beverage is helmed by Top Chef alumnus and 3-time James Beard
Award Winner, Chef Gregory Gourdet.

JOB SUMMARY
You are responsible for cooperating with the Maitre’D, Floor manager and the Management team to greet incoming and departing guests with a warm, knowledgeable & noticeably appreciative demeanor- a genuine smile and eye contact. You will escort them to their assigned table, present wine/cocktail list and ask for water preferences- always communicating information to the proper parties. The Host must be capable of working in a team-oriented environment to achieve the restaurant’s common goal of guest satisfaction. The Host must be personable with guests and be able to anticipate their needs. The role of the Host is integral to the success of the restaurant.
We believe in a ‘whole house’ mentality and we expect all departments (Pastry, Savory, Dining Room, and Facilities) to support and motivate each other to achieve our goal of guest satisfaction. As a Host, you will interact with all of these departments regularly and should be able to communicate effectively and respectfully with your co-workers & managers.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Must have 2 years + experience in a fast paced NYC restaurant as a Host
- Must be able to lift & a carry at least 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be comfortable with repetitive motions (such as walking, bending & standing)
- Must be knowledgeable of Industry critics & awards
- Must have full schedule availability
- Must be able to take constructive criticisms and work well in a team dynamic
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Know about the Maison Passerelle brands
- Know and be able to identify table and seat numbers
- Know how to and be able properly carry and clear glasses
- Know how to clear with trays and carry a tray properly
- Understand when it is appropriate to refill/not refill water glasses at a table
- Maintain station cleanliness
- Understand the proper standards of clearing/resetting a table
- Know how to answer incoming calls to the restaurant and provide appropriate service & answers
- Know our hours of operation, phone number, address
- Know and be able to explain what Maison Passerelle means
- Know and be able to explain the Maison Passerelle Mission
- Know historical information about the 1 Wall street Building
JOB DUTIES
- Check the bathrooms hourly for cleanliness. Restock toilet paper rolls & paper towels. Alert a Manager if a restroom needs cleaning by a Porter.
- Stock Host Stand with necessary items such as matches, ipads, business cards, etc.
- Properly close & lock up all Host Stand items
- Perform coat check duties when necessary
- Confirm the dining room is set according to the seating floor plan
- Learn the RESY & TOAST system so you are able to seat guests, make reservations, transfer checks, etc.
- Reservations confirmations
- Assist with managing the flow of guests into the restaurant, providing accurate wait times when necessary
SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be warm, knowledgeable and noticeably appreciative
- Accommodate guests by making each individual feel welcome
- Provide friendly, knowledgeable, attentive wine service for our guests
- Act professional and accommodating and always maintain composure
- Identify and report problems to management immediately
- Be aware of service flow, dining timing, and adjust for each guest’s individual needs
- Implement and follow steps of service
