JOB SUMMARY
The AMOS Maintenance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and governance of data within the AMOS system. This role involves entering new information, updating outdated data, and maintaining compliance with approved source documents and established guidelines. The specialist plays a key role in ensuring the AMOS database's integrity for components and maintenance, supporting operational excellence, and enabling future business value.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain a robust Data Governance strategy to ensure accurate, reliable, and standardized data within the AMOS system.
- Compile, verify, and validate source data for entry, ensuring compliance with Manufacturer, SMS, Class, and regulatory standards.
- Review data for deficiencies, reconcile discrepancies, and correct errors to maintain data consistency.
- Conduct frequent shipboard visits to support onboard and onshore users, ensuring effective system utilization.
- Provide regular training and reviews for AMOS users to enhance system proficiency and maintain high standards of data accuracy.
- Prepare and manage data spreadsheets, verifying accuracy and ensuring alignment with operational requirements.
- Support administrative and technical tasks related to AMOS as needed, contributing to broader operational goals.
- Identify opportunities to improve data processes, implementing best practices to optimize system functionality.
- Perform additional job-related tasks and projects as assigned, supporting departmental and organizational objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
DEGREE TYPE: Bachelor's Degree
FIELD(S) OF STUDY: Business Administration, Data Management, Information Systems, or a related field preferred. Marine Engineer or Mechanical Engineer.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 2 years' experience in onboard engineering or onshore in the Maintenance area; preferably in the Cruise Industry is a plus. Amos System experience is a plus.
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS
- Basic understanding of database structures and functionality.
- Advanced knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets, including MS Word and Excel.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive data with strict confidentiality while ensuring precise and efficient data entry and management.
- Prior experience in data entry, processing, or related tasks.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and strong follow-through capabilities.
- Ability to analyze data and research outcomes to provide actionable recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teams and foster strong, sustainable relationships.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information at various organizational levels.
- Proficiency in English is required.
