Job Summary for Senior Financial Accountant
Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting:

Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Provide insights into financial performance and trends to senior management.

General Ledger and Reconciliations:

Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of entries.
Perform complex account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.

Compliance and Auditing:

Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of audit findings.
Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts in collaboration with other departments.
Analyze variances between actual results and budgeted/forecasted figures, and recommend corrective actions.

Process Improvement:

Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes and systems.
Stay updated on industry changes and ensure the organization adopts best practices.

Team Leadership:

Mentor and train junior accounting staff, fostering their professional growth.
Lead cross-functional financial projects and initiatives.
Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA certification required.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience. The ideal candidate would have 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.

Skills:

Proficiency in accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

Compensation: $85 - 100k depending on education and experience plus bonus.
