Title: Senior Plant Engineer

Pay Rate : $140K-$170K

As a Senior Plant Engineer, you will serve as a technical expert at the facility, ensuring smooth operations through preventive maintenance and a strong, technically proficient maintenance team. You will manage and oversee plant engineering activities, including maintenance engineering, capital projects, and technical troubleshooting. You’ll play a crucial role in reducing downtime and improving plant performance while leading and developing the maintenance department to meet the plant’s needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Lead plant capital projects from scope development to completion, including budgeting, bidding, and internal coordination.
• Maintenance Optimization: Analyze and recommend actions for equipment replacements and improvements based on cost, service life, and efficiency.
• Contractor Oversight: Manage all aspects of outside contracting work, including project bidding, approval processes, and vendor coordination.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements to operational efficiency through both expense and capital projects.
• Staff Leadership & Development: Supervise and develop plant maintenance staff, including training and performance evaluation.
• Maintenance Program Management: Oversee and enhance preventive maintenance programs for plant systems, including utilities, production equipment, and environmental compliance.
• Material & Inventory Management: Coordinate material needs for maintenance and capital projects, including receiving materials, approvals, and managing inventories.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure environmental and safety policies comply with regulatory requirements, including audits, reporting, and permit renewals.
• Waste & Environmental Management: Oversee facility waste streams, wastewater testing, and implement waste reduction solutions.

Requirements:

• Education: Undergraduate degree in Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Experience: 5–8 years in engineering, maintenance, or a related field, with experience in a food manufacturing environment. Must include leadership in project management, environmental compliance, and PLC programming.
• Certifications/License: Certifications may be required during employment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations (waste, air, wastewater, stormwater).
• Understanding of safety regulations and compliance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and plant management systems.
• Skilled in critical thinking, analysis, and mathematical calculations.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Effective collaboration and teamwork abilities.
• Capable of handling complex issues and conflict with professionalism and tact.
• Multi-tasking and adapting to change with ease.
• Must be fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
