The Indiana State Medical Association, a non-profit professional association representing over 10,000 members, is hiring a Managing Editor to join our team of professionals dedicated to advocating for and supporting physicians, residents and medical students in the state.
This role, part of the 7-person membership and marketing department, serves as the primary planner, writer and editor for ISMA publications and online communications, in addition to supporting internal client departments for marketing, branding and other promotional projects along with our annual policy-making convention.

We are currently on a hybrid work schedule and anticipate this position would be in the office two to three days per week to begin in 2025. New employees start with four weeks (20 days) of paid time off, not including 9-10 office holidays per year.

Core Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, producing and and/or performing final edits of publications, communications projects and documents targeted to ISMA members and stakeholders, including legislative and other audiences. Specific editorial and tactical publications/media/events include:
- ISMA Reports and e-Reports – Monthly/Bi-weekly
- Legislative News – Weekly, during General Assembly session, with Communications Manager
- Social Media/Website – As necessary
- ISMA Convention – Summer/Fall
This role will also provide marketing communications support for campaigns promoting ISMA membership, education or branding initiatives for other departments.
