ESC has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Writer working onsite in Seattle, WA to support our premier client’s cloud services team. The ideal candidate will have technical writing experience with a focus on software or workflow applications. This is a 12-month contract role that offers opportunity to create informational architecture for our client’s services.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for APIs, SDKs, components, and tools, ensuring clarity and precision for internal software developers.
- Create technical handbooks, operational guides, and product feature documentation to support automated cost control and scaling solutions.
- Collaborate with software developers and product teams to translate complex operations and decision-making processes into accessible, actionable resources.
- Influence the delivery of a seamless, zero-touch cost management experience for thousands of service owners and builders.
- Document and explain automated decision-making systems responsible for executing hundreds of thousands of monthly capacity procurement and allocation actions.
- Ensure documentation supports the unique needs of software developers managing 100+ high-impact events annually across 20+ stores and thousands of services.
- Continuously improve content based on feedback from internal users and evolving product features.
- Present technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Skills:
- 3+ years as a technical writer, editor, or content strategist
- Experience writing and documenting APIs
- Experience managing content projects, including coordinating with other teams
- Experience with a markup language such as HTML or XML
- Strong bias for action and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Experience with content management systems, content tools, and SEO
- English Bachelor's Degree, technical writing, or related field, or comparable job experience
Preferred qualifications:
- 5+ years as a technical writer, editor, or content strategist, with a focus on software or workflow applications
- Experience working with product and UI designers and writing UI text
- Experience working as part of a global team with remote colleagues
- Experience creating content for translation and localization
- Experience working in an agile content development environment
