Job Overview:
As a Technical Writer, you will work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to create clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. You will be responsible for transforming technical content into well-structured, easy-to-understand manuals, guides, FAQs, release notes, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and write clear, accurate, and comprehensive technical documentation, including user manuals, online help systems, API documentation, and system administration guides.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product management, marketing) to gather technical information and ensure content accuracy.
- Organize and structure complex information for diverse audiences, from end-users to developers and system administrators.
- Maintain and update documentation based on product updates, user feedback, and industry trends.
- Ensure all documents meet company style guides and branding standards.
- Create diagrams, flowcharts, and other visual aids to clarify complex concepts.
- Review and edit documentation produced by other team members or departments for clarity, consistency, and accuracy.
- Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure that all documentation reflects actual product functionality.
- Continuously improve documentation processes and systems to enhance the user experience.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer or in a similar role (2+ years preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency with documentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, etc.) and content management systems (CMS).
- Familiarity with basic HTML and CSS for creating web-based documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- A strong portfolio or samples of previous documentation work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience writing API documentation.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Understanding of user experience (UX) design principles.
