Role: Data Scientist- Principal

Location: Akron, OH- Hybrid

Salary: up to $250k DOE + bonus

Clutch is looking for a Data Scientist at the Principal level with tire or manufacturing client experience.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and shape the strategic direction of data science initiatives, aligning them with client business objectives.
• Apply advanced statistical techniques, machine learning algorithms, and data mining methodologies to extract valuable insights from complex datasets.
• Design, develop, and deploy innovative data-driven solutions, including predictive models, recommendation systems, and optimization algorithms.
• Build strong relationships with clients, understand their business challenges, and translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights.
• Mentor and guide junior data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends in data science and analytics, contributing to thought leadership initiatives and publications.
• Collaborate with data engineers to design and implement robust data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Oversee the deployment of data science models into production environments, ensuring scalability and reliability.

Requirements:

• Advanced Degree: Ph.D. or Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or a related field).
• 10+ Years of Experience: Proven track record of leading complex data science projects in a consultancy environment preferred.
• Previous experience with manufacturing or tire clients required!
• Expertise in a variety of data science tools and techniques, including machine learning frameworks and cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of industry-specific data challenges and opportunities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to break down complex problems, identify root causes, and develop innovative solutions.
• Proven leadership abilities to inspire and motivate teams, foster collaboration, and drive results.
• Client-facing experience required!
