Responsibilities:

• Lead design, implementation, and optimization of firmware for embedded Linux systems, ensuring it meets functional and performance requirements
• Participate in and lead code reviews to maintain code quality and adhere to coding standards
• Identify, debug, and resolve software issues, optimizing code for size, speed, and power efficiency
• Work closely with hardware teams to integrate firmware with new or existing hardware components
• Write and execute unit tests, participate in integration testing, and support system-level testing
• Maintain and update technical documentation including design specifications, code comments, and user manuals
• Work with other engineers to solve complex problems, share knowledge, and ensure project milestones are met
• Stay updated with new technologies, tools, and methodologies in embedded systems

Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, etc. with 3+ years of professional experience or combined equivalent experience with evidence of exceptional ability
• Experience with embedded Linux development systems such as Petalinux, Yocto, buildroot, etc.
• Hands on experience with various microcontroller platforms and multicore architectures
• Proficiency in C, C++, or similar language for embedded systems
• Understanding of low-level programming and hardware interfacing
• Experience with one or more IDEs and debugging tools
• Experience with version control systems like Git
• Knowledge of real-time programming concepts and real-time operating systems
• Ability to write efficient code under resource constraints (memory, CPU, flash)
• Experience with embedded system testing practices
• Basic knowledge of digital and analog electronics
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% including internationally
• Excellent written and verbal communications in English
