Job Summary/Company :

Sparks Group, partnered with a leading academic research institution, seeks to hire for 2 positions: a qualified Grants Financial Analyst and a Senior Grants Financial Analyst to support the financial and compliance oversight of sponsored and non-sponsored programs, collaborating with leadership and research faculty. As Grants Financial Analysts, you will manage a portfolio of projects, providing expertise in financial analysis, budget management, and regulatory compliance, as well as provide mentorship to junior team members and faculty. Responsibilities :

  • Conduct financial analysis and projections for assigned portfolio, considering business and research trends.
  • Review and contribute to the development and monitoring of various budgets (departmental, discretionary, sponsored).
  • Analyze business activity costs and recommend budget adjustments and cost-saving measures.
  • Manage grant and contract closeouts, funding transfers, and prepare summary documentation.
  • Ensure appropriate funding levels and adherence to revenue and expenditure guidelines.
  • Develop financial planning, cost analysis, and projection reports.
  • Meet with faculty to review and ensure compliance with institutional and agency regulations.
  • Perform comprehensive financial analysis to enhance departmental financial effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
  • Senior Grants Financial Analyst will mentor junior team members and faculty on grants financial management best practices.


Qualifications/Background Profile :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Hospital Administration, Public Administration, or a related field (required) OR equivalent relevant experience (required).
  • Certified Research Administrator (CRA) preferred.
  • 1-3+ years of progressive related experience (required).
  • Recent experience with departmental budget and personnel communication.
  • Recent experience working with grants management and financial management systems.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to develop creative, effective solutions.
