Overview:

Pediatric Physiatrist

Kennedy Krieger Institute

Baltimore, MD

The Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, Maryland is searching for a talented Pediatric Physiatrist for our growing rehabilitation programs. We are seeking a board eligible and/or certified physician to provide medical care to children, adolescents, and young adults with a variety of diagnoses and impairments.

We are excited that our pediatric rehabilitation program, as part of the Johns Hopkins Rehabilitation Network, is in a period of growth and reorganization. We are looking for creative and flexible team members with interest in identifying their passion and contributing to program development. We anticipate that the Pediatric Physiatrist will have the opportunity to work in a variety of clinics and practice settings and will help develop new programs and systems of care within the Kennedy Krieger and Johns Hopkins Medicine systems.

The Pediatric Physiatrist will work closely with a variety of professionals to enhance the care and lives of individuals with apparent and non-apparent disabilities. In addition to direct patient care and teaching medical trainees, responsibilities include coordination with other disciplines at Kennedy Krieger Institute, including speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, neuropsychologists, behavioral psychologists, child psychiatrists, and social workers to ensure that each patient is comprehensively evaluated and receives the most appropriate treatment. The Institutes academic environment also provides many opportunities for participation in clinical research and adaptive sports and recreational activities.

Qualified applicants will be eligible for faculty appointment at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine as an Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or full Professor, depending upon qualifications. Opportunities for promotion exist on Clinical Excellence and Scholarship pathways.

Excellent salary and full benefits are offered, including partial college tuition remission for faculty member dependents (at any college) and tuition remission for faculty members, spouses and dependents for course work performed at the Johns Hopkins University and the Peabody Music Institute.

Kennedy Krieger Institute, located in downtown Baltimore, is a national leader in developmental disabilities and pediatric rehabilitation and transforms the lives of children with disorders of the brain through groundbreaking research, innovative treatments, and life-changing education.
