Key Responsibilities •Works under the direction of the provider and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act to provide professional nursing care for clinic patients in compliance with nursing standards and regulations.
•Triage patients by phone or in person, receiving and implementing telephone physician orders, maintaining clinical communication in dynamic environment.
•Assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care for both clinic and procedures, functions as primary liaison between clinic patients, staff, and providers.
•Responsible for maintaining all applicable KHI Policies and Procedures.
•Escorts patient to exam room and prepares patient for exam including vital signs, history, and reason for seeking care.
•Cross trains in data entry, balancing of accounts, charges fees and collect payments due.
•Schedules/confirms appointments.
•Reports as necessary to Public Health at direction of provider.
•Maintains work area including exam rooms, supplies, medication, and immunizations.
•Performs CLIA waived lab tests and obtains specimens.
•Performs proficiency testing and runs controls for waived tests.
•May perform venipuncture.
•Participates in division meetings.
Required Qualifications Education: Associate Degree in Nursing or graduate of a Nursing Diploma program
Licensure: Current, valid Arizona RN license or compact state RN license
Certification: BLS & ACLS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Skills and Knowledge: •Ability to communicate effectively with others, to manage multiple priorities and tasks
•Maintain attention to detail
•Knowledge of and ability to use computer hardware and software applications
•Able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocol
•Knowledge of and ability to implement direct care, newborn through geriatric
•Knowledge of and ability to use basic medical terminology
Preferences Experience: One to two years' experience as a Registered Nurse in a clinical outpatient setting

•Other potential hazard(s): possible exposure to chemical, biological and radioactive substances; possible exposure to hostile individuals
