About Shriners Children's Twin Cities

  • Free-standing pediatric orthopedic specialty clinic located 20 minutes outside of St. Paul in Woodbury, MN.
  • Specialties: Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery, Cerebral Palsy, Clubfoot/Club feet, Sports Medicine, Limb Deficiencies, Scoliosis, Spina Bifida, Rheumatology, Osgood-Schlatter Disease

Job Overview:

Shriners Children's is seeking a part-time Physician Assistant to join our team at our Shriners Children's Twin Cities facility. The Physician Assistant will provide medical services to children, birth through 18 years of age, at a free-standing pediatric orthopedic specialty clinic and participate in a related surgical service at a St. Paul area hospital. Schedule will be split between clinic and OR, 2-3 days per week, 8:00am to 4:30pm (clinic) & 7:30pm to 5:00pm (OR).

Responsibilities:
  • In-surgery support as first assist with Shriners pediatric orthopedic surgeons at a St. Paul area hospital
  • In-clinic support conducting patient clinics and/or assisting other physician specialists in a clinic setting: conducting history and physical examinations, providing patient care and treatment, assisting physician with interpretation of test results, managing orders in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), and assisting with patient and family education
  • Ability to help with casting or splinting preferred
  • Conduct patient rounds at a St. Paul area hospital on a rotating schedule
  • Participate in traveling clinics to surrounding states
Qualifications:
  • Must possess a Masters degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited PA program
  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain a MN PA license. Surrounding state licenses a plus
  • Must possess current NCCPA certification or be board eligible
  • Experience in orthopedics preferred. Pediatric experience highly preferred
  • Must possess or be eligible for DEA License
  • Current BLS certification. PALS certification preferred
  • Ability to analyze laboratory and radiography results
