SAP Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist

W2 Contract

Location: South San Francisco, CA - Hybrid Role

Job Summary:

We require an experienced and detail-oriented SAP SAC/FP&A Support Specialist to join our team. Your responsibilities will center on assisting with technical configurations, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful design and implementation of SAP Analytics Cloud functionalities to meet financial planning requirements. This role requires a deep understanding of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) functionalities, excellent project management skills, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support the transformation of FP&A processes, including migrating legacy systems to SAP Analytics Cloud for Planning (SAC Planning).
• Provide expertise in financial planning processes, including Revenue Planning, COGS Planning, Workforce Planning, Capital Expense Planning, Project Planning, and Operating Expense Planning.
• Partner with the FP&A project lead and process owners to define forecasting objectives for business outcomes and user experience.
• Assist in translating FP&A strategic direction and business objectives into holistic SAC Planning capabilities that enable financial forecasting and analysis requirements across projects, departments, locations, and accounts.
• Gather requirements, generate conceptual design, configure and prototype solution alternatives, author functional specifications, and implement these solutions in the integrated SAP environment.
• Use collaborative and consultative skills to translate and bridge business requirements to systems developers, who will design, build, test, and deploy budgeting, planning, and forecasting processes and reporting across Business Units and corporate functions.
• Facilitate process and system improvement opportunities and implement enhancements and changes to support finance process and reporting requirements.
• Help build robust profitability reporting using SAC.
• Meet project timelines to deliver SAP/SAC planning projects successfully.
• Manage day-to-day delivery workstreams and drive alignment between business needs and SAC Planning solutions.
• Provide weekly status updates and serve as a primary contact point for Project Leadership; assist in resolving risks and issues and remove obstacles in collaboration with the team.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience with SAP Finance solutions
• 3+ years of SAP S/4HANA Finance, BPC, and/or SAC
• At least two full life-cycle implementations of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) for biotech/pharma clients
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience; MBA a plus
• Strong understanding of SAC planning functionalities, including data modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting
• Strong expertise in SAP S/4 HANA, FI/CO, Group Reporting, and SAC tools
• Demonstrated experience leading SAC solutions as a product owner, technical client service lead, or lead solution consultant
• Collaborate across business teams as well as with 3rd party applications/vendors.
• Advanced knowledge and expertise in SAP BTP
• Senior-level expertise in functional integration to SAP Finance/major ERPs
• Proven ability to work creatively in a problem-solving environment
• Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
• Excellent leadership and management skills
• Knowledge of financial regulations, reporting standards, and internal controls (e.g., SOX compliance)
• Certifications in SAP S/4 HANA Finance or related modules are highly preferred.
