Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Assist and support hardlines in development and design product that is current with the trends of each season.
- Comfortable in communicating day-to-day design direction and brand guidelines to both internal departments and external licensees/partners and develop innovative and creative concepts.
- Responsible for product approvals (approval system, hardline samples), 3D review/analysis, creating overlays, etc.
- Track and administer licensing product approval process for assigned licensees and/or collaboration partners.
- Design product concepts for style guides, licensees/external partners, inspiration decks, retail pitches, etc.
- Collaborate specifically with hardlines team members, other members of the Creative team as well as other departments as needed. (Sales/Marketing)
- Accountable for creative research for hardlines categories around trends, product, materials, and colors.
- Utilize trend services and trend shopping.
- Maintain the creative integrity of Sanrio Brands where innovative designs reflect the latest trends for children, teens, and adults in key categories.
- Collaborate on the creation of style files to help support our licensees to understand our vision.
- Ability to prioritize, balance and manage workload with multiple deadlines.
- Must be nimble, ability to pivot based on changes and can work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be resourceful and possess logic and critical thinking
- Work with licensees to ensure character/brand integrity, design excellence, legal compliance, and quality of licensed products.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What do you bring to the table?
Desired Skills and Experience:
- AA in Industrial/Product Design or closely related area (BA/BFA preferred).
- 2+ year’s experience within the consumer product industry or equivalent design expertise.
- Must have knowledge of various raw materials (e.g., textiles, plastics, etc.) specifically to hardlines.
- Excellent drawing/illustration skills with key knowledge in hardlines product development; able to translate objectives into visual format and must be physically able to use computer and artist tools to execute creative deliverables.
- Computer proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Power Point, MS Excel, MS word and other as needed specifically pertaining to hardlines product development.
- Good organization/prioritization skills necessary to work under tight deadlines, understanding of time management.
- Good written/verbal communications skills, with strong attention to detail.
- A team player with the ability to take direction and work professionally with others.
- Must maintain company/licensee proprietary and confidential design concepts & information.
Salary: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
