Leave of Absence (LOA) and Workers' Compensation (WC) Specialist (Temporary)

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a LOA/WC Specialist for a hybrid role. Must live in the locally. We're currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Leave of Absence (LOA) and Workers' Compensation (WC) Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. If you have a passion for HR and helping employees navigate leave and compensation processes, this role is for you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end LOA and WC process for employees, ensuring compliance with company policies, state/federal laws, and regulations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees, managers, and HR partners regarding LOA and WC inquiries.
  • Review and process LOA requests, including Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), short-term disability, and other applicable leaves of absence.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting and documentation of Workers' Compensation claims, working closely with insurance carriers and medical providers.
  • Assist with communication to employees about their rights, responsibilities, and status of claims.
  • Maintain up-to-date records in compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.
  • Provide data analysis and reporting on leave trends, costs, and other key metrics.
  • Collaborate with HR, payroll, and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient case management.
  • Monitor leave cases to ensure that accommodations and return-to-work programs are implemented appropriately.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in Leave of Absence and Workers' Compensation administration.
  • Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, state-specific leave laws, and WC regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across departments.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.). Experience with HRIS and leave management systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Certification in Workers' Compensation or Leave of Absence (e.g., WC, FMLA) is a plus, but not required.
