LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a reputable general contractor to find a skilled Construction Project Estimator to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced estimator with a background in construction to contribute to a growing organization while being based in either Aztec, NM or Durango, CO. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of estimating project costs, managing budgets, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately estimate project costs for commercial, residential, and industrial construction projects.
- Review blueprints, plans, and specifications to determine the scope of work and materials needed.
- Work closely with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather cost information and finalize estimates.
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
- Analyze historical data and industry trends to provide the most accurate pricing information.
- Monitor project budgets and track expenses to ensure projects stay within financial guidelines.
- Support the procurement process by soliciting quotes from vendors and subcontractors.
- Provide recommendations to mitigate cost overruns and manage project financial risks.
- Collaborate with teams to help streamline processes and ensure timely project delivery.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Construction Project Estimator or similar role, preferably with a general contractor.
- In-depth knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Buildertrend, or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, vendors, and team members.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- 3-5 years of experience in estimating within the construction industry.
- Experience in both commercial and residential estimating is a plus.
