Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Product Development Engineer to join our team. This role will involve the design, development, testing, and launch of innovative new products for the pet market. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, a passion for product development, and a keen eye for quality and efficiency. As a New Product Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that new products meet customer needs, industry standards, and company goals.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Product Design & Development: Lead the design and development process of new products, ensuring functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.

·        Prototyping & Testing: Create prototypes and conduct rigorous testing to validate design concepts, ensuring performance, durability, and compliance with industry standards.

·        Collaboration: Lead a cross-functional development team, including sales, marketing, and manufacturing, to bring new products from concept to market.

·        Product Improvements: Identify opportunities for product enhancements, both in design and manufacturing processes, to improve product performance and reduce costs.

·        Documentation & Compliance: Develop technical documentation, including product specifications, user manuals, and safety compliance reports, ensuring that all products adhere to regulatory standards.

·        Market Research: Analyze market trends, customer feedback, and competitive products to drive innovation and ensure the development of products that meet market demands.

·        Problem Solving: Troubleshoot issues in the product development lifecycle, from design through production, and work towards effective solutions.

·        Product Launch Support: Provide engineering support during product launches, including training, technical support, and troubleshooting.

Qualifications:

·        Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

·        Experience: 2-5 years of experience in product design, development, or engineering, preferably within a related industry.

·        Technical Skills:

o   Proficient in CAD software

o   Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and product testing

o   Knowledge of industry standards and regulations

o   Familiarity with design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA)

o   Background in plastics (roto-molding) and Lean methodologies a plus

·        Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail

·        Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

·        Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly to various stakeholders.

·        Team Player: Collaborative and able to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
