We are a rapidly growing organization in the Newark, NJ area. We are seeking to hire a HR Manager to join our team of proactive professionals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following responsibilities:
Job Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Staffing :
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to meet staffing needs at various de-icing stations, including seasonal hiring during peak de-icing months.
- Manage full-cycle recruitment processes: job postings, interviews, hiring, onboarding, and orientation of new employees.
- Collaborate with station managers to anticipate and address workforce needs.
Employee Relations and Engagement :
- Foster a positive and compliant work environment across all de-icing stations.
- Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts in a timely and professional manner.
- Implement employee engagement programs to enhance morale, productivity, and retention.
Compliance and Safety :
- Ensure all HR practices comply with federal, state, and local labor laws and safety regulations, especially OSHA standards related to de-icing operations.
- Lead and manage workers' compensation claims and investigations in coordination with the safety department.
- Oversee the administration of employee safety programs and support training related to safe de-icing practices.
Performance Management :
- Oversee the performance appraisal process for all employees, ensuring consistency and alignment with operational goals.
- Develop and implement improvement plans for underperforming employees, working closely with station managers.
- Manage disciplinary actions as needed while maintaining compliance with company policies.
Compensation and Benefits :
- Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
- Ensure accurate payroll processing across stations in partnership with the finance team.
- Regularly review and recommend adjustments to compensation plans to stay competitive in the industry.
HR Data and Reporting :
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
- Generate reports on HR metrics, such as turnover, time-to-hire, and training completion rates.
- Analyze HR data to recommend improvements and support decision-making at the corporate level.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in HR Management, preferably in multi-location or service-oriented industries.
- Knowledge of federal and state labor laws, and OSHA regulations and experience managing compliance in operational settings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage employees across multiple locations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to effectively manage conflict and employee relations issues.
- Experience with HR information systems (HRIS) and payroll systems.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is a plus.
