Description:
To harmoniously coordinate the activities and resources of the shipyard to complete individual projects in a cost effective and efficient manner, while maintaining schedule and minimizing conflict with other shipyard operations and projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
These shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:
- Mentor and train project managers
- Lead project managers in day to day activities to ensure they have the support for their projects
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises and devise contingency plans.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Ensure resource availability and allocation
- Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress to be shared with clients in addition to other stakeholders
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
- Responsible for collaboration and communication with various teams as needed
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
- Report progress, including any changes made to plans and production and escalate to management as needed
- Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders including third parties/vendors
- Perform risk assessment to minimize and manage project risks
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Meet with clients to clarify specific requirements of each project
- Delegate project tasks based on skill sets and experience levels
- Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
- Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis
- Use and continually develop leadership skills
- Review billing and invoices for accuracy
- Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
- Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum of ten (10) years relevant trade experience within the marine industry OR High School diploma with a minimum of fifteen (15) years relevant trade experience within the marine industry.
- Project Manager Professional (PMP) certification a plus.
Work Environment Summary:
Applicant may be subject to environmental conditions such as cold, heat, exposure to noise, hazards, and confined spaces/close quarters. Applicant must be able to access all areas of the shipyard and company property including docks in all types of weather conditions.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit/stand, walk, climb, kneel, crawl, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, see with close vision, and access confined spaces.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Must have the ability to move easily between buildings, ascend/descend ladders and work outdoors in shipyards/marinas in all kinds of weather.
