The Role

We are looking for a hands-on , experienced Head of Machine Learning to lead and innovate our ML and AI efforts. In this role, you will shape the strategic direction and execution of ML and AI initiatives, while also rolling up your sleeves to build and deploy cutting-edge models. You’ll be responsible for leading our efforts to push the boundaries of what's possible in AI, particularly with large language models (LLMs), NLP, and knowledge-augmented AI. Key deliverables will include:

• Leading the design and implementation of Infactory’s overall AI strategy.
• Working at the forefront of Gen AI at a critical point in the lifespan of the company.
• Designing and implementing robust frameworks for organizing and structuring data for efficient querying.
• Leading the development of systems that translate natural language queries into programmatic queries. Developing taxonomies, schemas, and ontologies for enterprise data representation.
• Innovating on transformer-based and NLP models to improve natural language interaction with data.
• Defining KPIs for ML systems, focusing on query accuracy, speed, and reliability.
• Owning the development of proprietary algorithms tailored for improving accuracy and reducing hallucinations.
• Engaging with clients and beta partners to refine solutions and showcase AI innovations.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in modern machine learning techniques, especially in large language models (LLMs) and NLP. Hands-on experience with major ML frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• 8-10+ years of experience in AI/ML, preferably from a broad NLP background solving problems around Search, Information Retrieval, Reasoning and Hallucinations (AI startup experience strongly preferred )
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to write code and build a team of diverse technical talents.
• A solid background in AI/ML research, with publications or significant contributions to the field.
• Experience in knowledge-augmented LLMs and knowledge graphs is highly valued.
• Proven experience transitioning AI products from research to production.
• Experience with deployment, scalability, and reliability challenges of machine learning systems in enterprise environments.
• Experience working with AI in regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, or other highly regulated sectors would be an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a broad range of stakeholders.
• A strategic thinker with the ability to balance bold innovation with practical execution. Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality, meaningful solutions.
