Job Title: Vice President, Engineering

Reports to: EVP, Engineering

Location: Amityville, NY

NAPCO Security Technologies, Inc., headquartered in Amityville, Long Island NY, is a world-wide leader in the manufacturing of electronic security systems for over 45 years is seeking an experienced Vice President of Engineering. This senior position involves directing and participating in the design of microprocessor-based hardware platforms for use in the security industry for Fire, Burglary, Access Control, Video, Wireless, IoT and Home Automation products and reports to the EVP of Engineering.


Responsibilities:

• Manage, Direct and provide leadership to the hardware development team from concept, through specification, design, parts selection, schematic creation, PCB layout, test and certification.

• Work with the Development and Marketing teams to define system level features, performance specifications and implement the appropriate hardware design.

• Provide factory support for sustaining Engineering on existing products and introduction of new products.

• Ensure adherence to internal and external industry standards such as UL/FCC/CE.

• Recruit, develop and manage top Engineering talent capable of delivering high quality, reliable and effective technological solutions.

• Coach our Engineering teams to become better versions of themselves, help develop their careers, and ensure they are working on projects which engage them, challenge them and keep them excited to come into work every day.

• Design, implement, and monitor all operations and key performance metrics to maintain operational efficiency for the Engineering teams


Requirements:

• BS in CE or EE and 15+ years of experience designing microprocessor-based products.

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a technology leader.

• Expert knowledge of digital and analog design and product development lifecycle.

• Experience with PDM systems such as MAPICS.

• Strong communication, negotiation, and influence skills.

• Excellent knowledge of Excel and Word.

• Experience in project execution and administration.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Effective analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.

• Effective interpersonal and collaborative skills.

• Action oriented and innovative; able to translate broad goals into achievable steps.

• Embedded Firmware development skills a plus

• Sub 1GHz RF experience a plus
