Summary:
This position reports to the Security Risk Compliance Office Manager of the Information Technology Office at Floridas Turnpike Enterprises (FTE). The Senior Network Engineer plays an integral role within the Network Operations team. The incumbent must possess advanced knowledge and hands-on experience in deploying and managing routers, switches, and firewalls, with the ability to proactively troubleshoot complex network infrastructures. Proficiency with Check Point NGX, IPS/IDS, Rapid7 Nexpose, and SolarWinds is essential.
- Responsibilities: Manage Layer 2 and 3 protocols, including routers and switches, ensuring optimal data throughput by monitoring network activity to mitigate performance issues.
- Proactively monitor and troubleshoot connectivity for FTEs Network Infrastructure, including campus, roadside, backbone, LAN, Walk-in Centers, partner networks, and third-party connections.
- Review and optimize FTEs network architecture and design, including failover capabilities, to enhance performance and reliability.
- Ensure adequate network segmentation to protect sensitive environments containing PCI, financial, and customer data.
- Utilize SolarWinds to create dashboards for proactive monitoring and troubleshooting of network performance and connectivity, including management reporting dashboards.
- Ensure all network infrastructure components are logging to SIEM by reviewing SIEM logs.
- Monitor and deploy patches and updates to all network infrastructure components proactively.
- Support the Network and Security Operations team in designing Cloud architecture with considerations for capacity, failover, stability, and security.
- Perform vulnerability scans to ensure the protection of perimeter, network segments, databases, applications, and server environments.
- Maintain accurate inventory controls for FTEs network infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain network infrastructure diagrams and associated documentation, including change control approvals.
- Assist the SRCO team with investigation, triage, forensic analysis, and evidence preservation during cybersecurity events.
- Assist with threat intelligence and hunting using existing security tools.
- Ensure compliance with established standards, policies, configuration guidelines set by SRCO, and industry best practices such as NIST.
