Our Atlanta Office is excited to have an opening for an experienced and proven Business Development Professional to join our team of technical consultants. Our ideal candidate has a proven understanding of the professional services industry, ideally specific to the employee benefits consulting industry, and can leverage their connective personality and knowledge to create and maintain trusted relationships with client prospects. Direct experience selling consulting projects (rather than defined products, brokerage services, or investment advice) is a must.
You will be able to establish new relationships, manage existing clients and contacts across markets, sectors and client types, and hand those relationships to the firm’s Principals at the right time to achieve sales that align with the strategic direction of the firm.
You will have excellent organizational skills, deal with competing priorities, and concurrently & effectively meet client and firm Principal needs while approaching each opportunity with energy, enthusiasm and a desire to excel.
A Day in the Life:
- Lead, drive, create and maintain relationships with clients whose need for Strategic Benefits Advisors services is current or anticipated
- Work well both independently and in a team environment, partnering with firm Principals, Marketing coordinators and subject matter experts within the firm.
- Generate opportunities, gather intelligence, and develop and execute a successful pursuit strategy which is shared with leadership on a regular basis
- Represent the firm across all geographic and market sectors, including corporations and government entities
- Attend and actively participate in local and regional organizations related to employer benefits and chamber events with weekly reports to the leadership team
- Aid in preparation and manage annual business development budget including but not limited to events, expenses, conferences, sponsorships, publications, memberships and investments
- Maintain and build ongoing knowledge of sector trends, community forecasting, current workload and past projects for the firm
- Track project wins/ pursuits to meet annual sales goals. Monitor and drive revenue goals per sector
