Role Overview
The Sales Engineer is responsible for overseeing the go-to-market execution, developing referral and web leads into purchase orders. The Sales Engineer reports to the President, and works closely with the managers of design and production to meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Works with the President to build and execute quarterly forecasts.
- Develops and executes the Area GTM sales strategy that results in achieving company revenue and gross profit goals.
- Nurtures referrals and web leads to maturity where design documents may incorporate Pikus-engineered solutions. Maintains communication with existing and previous customers (specifiers, owners and installers).
- Manages key performance indicators such as the number of qualified leads, quotes, Lead-to-Quote, Lead-to-PO and Hit Rate.
- Tracks key demand indicators in CRM to assist the President in pricing.
- Sets expectations early to maximize the Customer Experience, including the design process, product performance, warranty and payment terms.
- Manages customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolves any issues that may arise post-sale and post installation.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the President.
Necessary Experience & Skills
- Is an expert at technical sales with domain expertise in architectural and/or construction products sales.
- Extensive specifier relationships and/or the ability to leverage people and processes to convert leads to cash
- Systems thinking affecting excellence in planning
- Self-disciplined and motivated
- Must have confidence, aggressiveness, tenacity, and resilience
- Ability to travel up to 40% within geography. Lives in Florida or Texas.
Ideal Attributes
- Demonstrated success in introducing new products to market in the construction, design engineering or architectural sectors while meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Experienced with design and construction phases, blueprint reading or the ability to do take-offs, 3D printing, and concrete construction products.
- Knowledge of new product approval steps and municipal building permit process.
