Job Title : Network Administrator (Onsite)
Schedule :
- 3-4 days onsite (in-office or at client locations)
- 1-2 days remote
Basic Functions :
- Assists in the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of systems, including desktop PCs, servers, network equipment, phone systems, and software applications.
- Supports the NOC in ensuring installation and integrity for all backups (workstation, server, and cloud).
- Monitors, plans, and coordinates the distribution of client/server software and service packs.
- Provides on-site and remote technical support.
- Organizes and inventories hardware and software resources.
- Maintains excellent communication with the Operations Manager, Project Manager, Account Managers, and clientele on tasks and projects.
- Creates and maintains technical documentation.
- Participates in after-hours on-call support on a rotating schedule.
- Conducts service audits; identifies inefficiencies; provides recommendations; and implements improvements to minimize end-user disruptions.
- Assists the Account Manager with IT project management, research, scope documentation, and maintaining service levels.
- Provides end-user training and writes SOPs to enhance productivity.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities :
- Focus on improving customer service, perception, and satisfaction.
- Collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Escalate unresolved service issues within agreed service levels.
- Communicate progress, changes, and outages to customers.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of customer IT needs and their business goals.
- Develop expertise in the service catalog and its relation to customer requirements.
- Record time and expenses in ConnectWise as they occur.
- Adhere to daily schedules established through the dispatch process in ConnectWise.
- Complete training materials and blueprints on the ConnectWise University.
- Enter all work as service tickets in ConnectWise.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies through IT publications and online resources.
- Pursue IT industry certifications as part of ongoing education.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required :
- Professional IT Certifications : Microsoft MCP, MCSA, or MCSE; WatchGuard Security.
- Exchange Online and Office 365 : Experience with Send/Receive Connectors, migrations, and mail flow troubleshooting.
- Microsoft Teams administration.
- Intune MDM : Conditional Access, configuration, and compliance policies.
- Virtualization Experience : Microsoft-specific virtualization, primarily Hyper-V, including installation and support.
- Firewall Experience : Installing, configuring, and supporting WatchGuard technologies; familiarity with policy-driven firewalls.
- Network Switching Experience : Installing, configuring, and supporting managed switches with VLANs and routing. Familiarity with routing is a must.
- Interpersonal skills : Strong communication, active listening, and customer-care abilities.
- Technical awareness : Ability to match resources to technical issues effectively.
- Multitasking and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
- Service awareness of key IT services and technologies.
- Typing and documentation skills for accurate entry of service details.
- Self-motivated with a passion for technology and learning.
Educational/Vocational/Experience Recommendations :
- BA/BS in computer science or a related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of IT experience.
