Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Associate
Pay Rate: $18.00/hr. - $20.00/hr.
Shift: 1st Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm, some Saturday for overtime
Position Summary:
The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for managing the movement, inspection, and documentation of goods within the warehouse. Key tasks include assembling and preparing orders for shipment, inspecting incoming materials, and documenting damages or discrepancies. This role requires attention to detail, proficiency with inventory systems, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble, pack, and prepare goods for shipment.
  • Receive, unpack, inspect, and store incoming materials and supplies.
  • Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments using shipping records.
  • Document damages and discrepancies for reimbursement and reconciliation purposes.
  • Move freight, stock, or materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, or delivery vehicles using equipment such as forklifts or manually.
  • Sort, stack, and secure cargo to prevent damage during transit.
  • Install protective devices (e.g., bracing, padding, strapping) to safeguard items during transportation.
  • Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure inventory is secure and organized.
  • Operate machinery such as cranes or forklifts to move and position materials.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and equipment are returned after use.
  • Support team goals and perform additional tasks as assigned.
Physical Demands
  • Frequently move or lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Continuous standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a warehouse or industrial/manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Experience with customer-focused interactions and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to apply practical problem-solving skills and execute instructions provided in various formats (written, oral, diagram).
  • Prior forklift experience and ability to obtain a forklift license.
Requirements
  • Ability to safely drive a tow motor and box truck.
  • Proficient in computer systems for inventory management and label creation (e.g., Outlook, Epicor).
  • Availability for overtime, including a 50-hour average workweek and Saturday shifts.
