Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner specializing in Psychiatry/Geriatrics to join our team. The NP will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive psychiatric care to geriatric patients, addressing their unique mental health needs with compassion and expertise.
Responsibilities: Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments of geriatric patients, including mental health history, symptoms, and functional status.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs and goals.
Provide evidence-based pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions for mental health disorders prevalent in geriatric populations, such as depression, anxiety, dementia-related behaviors, and psychosis.
Perform medication management, including prescribing, adjusting dosages, and monitoring for therapeutic efficacy and side effects.
Offer psychotherapy and counseling services to address emotional and behavioral concerns, utilizing cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), supportive therapy, and other modalities.
Conduct crisis intervention and risk assessment for patients experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms or suicidal ideation.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers about mental health conditions, treatment options, medication adherence, and strategies for managing symptoms.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (EMR) documenting patient assessments, treatment plans, interventions, and progress notes.

Adhere to ethical standards, professional guidelines, and regulatory requirements governing psychiatric practice.
Qualifications: Master s degree in clinical nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
3-5 years of nursing experience, preferably as a Nurse Practitioner.
State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority
Experience working in psychiatric care, preferably with geriatric populations
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems
