Title: Controller
Position: Full-Time
Salary: $100,000 - $135,000

Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations:
Manage and optimize the daily operations of the accounting department, overseeing Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Payroll.
Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to meet company objectives while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Systems and Procedures:
Implement, review, and maintain accounting systems and processes to drive efficiency, accuracy, and enhanced reporting. Focus on automation and process improvements.
Internal and External Audits:
Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring the appropriate allocation of accounting resources.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and consolidate financial statements in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with GAAP. Oversee the month-end close process.
Cost Accounting:
Develop and update standard costs for new and existing products, ensuring accurate cost management.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
Design, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to protect assets and ensure reliable financial reporting.
Banking:
Manage all banking transactions, including deposits, ACH transfers, refunds, autopayments, and wires.
Budgeting:
Develop and oversee budgeting processes in coordination with department heads, monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and provide insights for adjustments based on business needs.
Taxes:
Support the preparation of annual Federal and State tax returns.
Reporting:
Prepare and file personal property tax reports, sales tax returns, and other required governmental reports.
Additional duties as assigned by management.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (required); Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation (preferred).
Experience: 5+ years of experience in accounting, with 3+ years in a leadership role (preferred).
Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with financial software and ERP systems; advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Competencies: Attention to detail, creativity, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Personal Skills: Strong independent work ethic, interpersonal skills for team collaboration, and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and editing skills.
Other Skills: Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, and delegate effectively as needed.
