Director of Finance – Fluent in Mandarin and English

Salary Range: $110,000 - $150,000 per year (higher compensation considered for exceptional candidates)

About the Opportunity:
VALiNTRY is seeking a Director of Finance to join a dynamic team committed to delivering timeless and elegant service tailored for the modern world. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is pivotal in leading the financial strategy and administration for the organization. We are looking for a passionate and skilled professional fluent in Mandarin and English who will foster a positive employee culture while ensuring financial excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Cash Flow Management: Oversee all aspects of cash flow, including accurate and timely preparation of cash flow statements, receivables/payables management, cash balances, and deposits.
Financial Oversight: Monitor revenues and expenses, ensure accurate recording, and investigate variances against budgets to implement improvement strategies.
Capital Planning: Assist in evaluating capital improvement returns, manage bidding processes, and ensure proper property maintenance.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all licenses, permits, leases, contracts, taxes, and legal agreements.
Financial Analysis: Provide data-driven insights to assist management in achieving financial goals.
Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Ensure timely reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, including bank statements.
Internal Controls: Establish and audit internal financial controls, covering purchasing, cash handling, payroll, inventory, and other key areas.
Talent Development: Recruit, train, and mentor financial services staff, fostering a culture of continuous growth.
Training Programs: Implement and oversee accounting competency programs for all levels of staff.
Team Leadership: Hire, develop, and supervise accounting staff while ensuring compliance with operational standards.
Reporting: Prepare and direct all required financial reports, adhering to deadlines.
System Utilization: Maintain and upgrade financial systems and equipment as needed.

Qualifications:

Progressive experience in hotel accounting or a 4-year degree in Accounting/Finance (hospitality experience preferred).
Proficiency in Windows, spreadsheets, word processing, and hotel-specific systems.
Strong leadership and communication skills to foster team development.
Expertise in financial analysis, reporting, and compliance.
