OPPORTUNITY SNAPSHOT:
Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, and/or Lead Engineers the Associate Engineer creates drawings in support of Sales and Production, including Customer reference, component drawings, accurate BOMs, construction details, and installation documentation.
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
- Utilize CAD software and other modeling tools to design and develop manufacturing components and systems. AutoCAD, Inventor and Vault experience preferred.
- Communicate manufacturing specifications effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all manufacturing processes, drawing processes, SOPs. and systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align manufacturing processes with organizational goals.
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
- Create accurate and detailed Models (Part, Sub-Assembly and Assembly) per defined EIS Inventor Standards, for use by Programming and for Production creation. This can be through either traditional Part Modeling and Assembly or Solid Body Modeling techniques.
- Create detailed shop drawings for production, which may include modifying or adding detail and dimensions to existing drawings or creating new drawings.
- Manage Engineering Service Requests (ESR) for drawings from submittal to completion, with constant communication to the requestor on expected milestones and completion date.
- Manage engineering projects through 3rd party engineering firm to ensure drawings get completed timely and accurately per EIS standards.
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations and maintain departmental Drafting and file management standards.
- This position will work directly with Engineering, Procurement, Project Management Production, Design and CAD resources.
- Create and manage Excel spreadsheets to track or maintain project scopes.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field highly preferred.
- 1 to 3 years of related experience within a similar environment required or combination of education/ drafting certification and experience.
- Proficient with CAD and 3D Modeling software. AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor and Vault preferred.
- Experience with ERP system Epicor helpful, but not required.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software and modeling tools.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Smartsheet and Excel preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
- Proactive, innovative, and adaptable to new technologies and methods.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
PROTECTIVE CLOTHING/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: Requires use of safety glasses and steel toed shoes while in the shop.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The Associate Engineer role involves a mix of office and production floor environments. The position may require sitting for extended periods while working with design software and standing or walking on the production floor to oversee manufacturing processes. The role may also involve occasional lifting of equipment or materials up to 25 pounds. The working conditions may include exposure to loud machinery, fluctuating temperatures, and potentially hazardous materials, requiring adherence to safety protocols at all times.
