Overview Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of production workers, such as inspectors, machine operators, assemblers, fabricators, and material handlers, etc.
Responsibilities - Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production of goods.
- Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities between departments.
- Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production to meet goals.
- Make decisions regarding hiring, discipline, coaching, promotion and termination of staff.
- Perform reviews of staff and make recommendations regarding pay increases.
- Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
- Observe work to ensure that operators conform to production standards.
- Conduct training in equipment operations or safety procedures.
- Interpret specifications, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
- Read and analyze records and reports to determine production requirements.
- Enforce safety and housekeeping regulations.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications - High school degree or equivalent required. Three to five years previous work-related experience.
- Computer skills required; Outlook email, production systems, etc.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk. Must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
