Travel Nurse RN - ICU - Intensive Care Unit - $2,164 per week at Health Good Samaritan summary:

A Travel Nurse RN specializing in ICU care is required for a 13-week assignment in Nebraska/Iowa, providing critical care to both adults and pediatrics. The position requires certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS, as well as the ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, while floating as needed. The nurse will manage complex patient cases, including cardiac drips and respiratory support, in a 33-bed ICU setting with a nurse-patient ratio of 1:2-3 for adults and 1:2-4 for pediatrics.

  • A large system in Nebraska/Iowa are looking for Night ICU RN's. 13 Weeks, Every other Weekend/Holiday. Open Heart Trained.
    Job Requirements
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS. Department: ICU RN.
  • # of Beds: 33 beds, average daily census is 16.
  • Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 for adults, 1:2-4 for Peds.
  • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults and Pediatrics, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, respiratory distress.
  • Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes.
  • Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Any cardiac drip, insulin, sedation.
    Schedule Information
  • Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1830, 1830-0630.
  • Self scheduling for core staff, travelers added in. Unable to guarantee block scheduling.
  • Weekend Requirements: Every other.
  • Holiday Requirements: Rotating based on weekend group.
  • Floating Requirements: Typically to PCU, possibly to MedSurg.
  • How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 3 shifts.
    Unit Specific Information
  • Are RNs required to do anything with RT Equipment besides trouble shoot?: Nasal cannula to vent.
  • Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: RNs required to read and interpret.
    Additional Details
  • Health Support Tech M-F 0800-1630.
  • RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.)
  • RNs required to read and interpret.
  • No blocked scheduling or same schedule/shifts, must be flexible and willing to float and work when needed.
