Daily Responsibilities for a Physiatrist.
- Engage in outpatient psychiatric care, providing comprehensive assessments and evidence-based treatments to patients.
- Conduct consultative services at Reading Hospital, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to address complex psychiatric needs.
- Teach and mentor Psychiatry residents and medical students as part of our Psychiatry residency program, which welcomed its inaugural class in 2022.

Requirements For This Family Medicine Physician Role
- MD, DO, or equivalent foreign degree
- Completion of ACMGE accredited psychiatry residency or fellowship program
- Candidates must be BE/BC in Psychiatry
- Candidates coming out of training encouraged to apply!
- A valid PA Medical License or the ability to obtain one is required
Schedule For This Position
- IP consults vary each day. We also use a telepsych company to help with any overflow. Outpatient - Most of our psychiatrists use a 15/30 min schedule.
- No telehealth opportunities currently. With us having a psychiatry residency program at the hospital, we need our psychiatrists to be present. Full time positions are 36 clinical hours and 4 admin hours per week.
- 3 telephonic weekday calls per month. Our residents take the call first and follow up with the attending on call with any questions or concerns. Our psychiatrists also complete consults 1 weekend every other month (roughly 6 weekends a year) and also take call that weekend as well. As above, residents take call first and also round with the psychiatrist on the weekends.
