OVERVIEW:
The Senior Accounting Manager (“Manager”) is responsible for internal controls over fixed asset accounting and other balance sheet accounts such as prepaids and payroll related liabilities. The Manager is also responsible for the books of the European subsidiaries, partnership with Global Upside (VAT and other tax/compliance reporting), and full reconciliation of intercompany payables/receivables. This position is responsible for maintenance of the Global Chart of Accounts and related GL coding attributes (cost centers, subaccounts, and projects) and supervises the Senior Accountant-GL. The Manager also is the system owner for the Blackline software application used for month end closing tasks and reconciliations.
Requirements:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure proper cross-feed of data from ERP system (QAD) to FP&A reporting software (Vena) and prepare the reconciliation between the systems
Prepare the financial statement summary and TB file each quarter
Execute internal controls over Fixed Assets, including the annual impairment review, monthly reconciliations and rollforward schedule and review of depreciation for appropriateness, and review the work of the Senior Accountant-GL
Execute internal controls over payroll related liabilities (bonus, vacation, wages, etc.), expense allocation of benefits, and payroll expense entries including the review of staff entries and reconciliations
Review or prepare appropriate accruals related to assigned cost centers and review the cost center P&Ls for R&D, SG&A and Clinical/Regulatory in support of the month-end close
Prepare the monthly sales commission calculations
Develop cross-department partnerships to implement new key business initiatives
Prepare the monthly consolidation of financial statements, including revaluation and elimination activities
System ownership for Blackline reconciliation software including user access review and change monitoring compliance
Completion of all SOX controls within areas of responsibility
Reconcile intercompany activity
Review other entries or reconciliations as assigned
Support audit/reviews by the SOX team and EY as requested
Supervise and train Sr Accountant, GL ensuring responsibilities are properly executed
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong leadership skills required.
Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP
Advanced analytical, problem solving and system skills
Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized.
Articulate, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to think creatively, highly driven and self-motivated
Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on capacity
Strong MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) and ERP (QAD skills)
Ability to learn new business requirements and adapt to change

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:
10+ years of Finance & Accounting Experience
BS in Finance or Accounting required; MBA or CPA preferred
Must be flexible and adaptable to change
Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple projects under tight deadlines and work independently
Ability to work professionally with all levels of management

Training to be completed per the training plan for this position as maintained in the document control system.
The training requirements on TRN-10007 Insider Trading Policy, TRN-10008 Global Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policy and TRN-10009 Code of Business Conducts and Ethics must be diligently completed within 30 days from the hiring date and on an annual basis
