Job Description
Location: A vibrant c ity in Northeast Iowa! It's apart of the Waterloo-Cedar Falls metropolitan area, often referred to as the Cedar Valley. Known for its industrial history, cultural diversity, and recreational opportunities. 50 minutes outside of Cedar Rapids!

Facility: A 366-bed, full-service, multi-specialty hospital providing acute, sub-acute, and outpatient health care services.

Opportunity:
  • Looking for an Orthopedic Surgery Physician to fill a need!
  • Schedule & Job Responsibilities
    • We are strictly looking for locum tenens coverage for the following On Call shifts: Feb 27-March 2; May 1-4; July 31-Aug 3; and Oct 30-Nov 2.
    • This would include inpatient and call coverage at both locations, no clinic responsibilities.
  • Medical Staff Required: Yes
  • Outreach: No
  • Telehealth: No
  • Number of Physicians: 4
  • Number of Advanced Practice Providers: 4
  • Supervision of APP expected: No
  • No clinic work anticipated
  • Medical Imaging: Yes
  • Lab & Pharmacy: Yes
  • Average Daily Hospital Practice Census: 10-20 for both locations
  • Demographics/Patient Population: All ages
  • EMR: Epic in the clinic setting. Cerner in the inpatient setting until May 31, 2025 at which time the EMR will be Epic Enterprise.
  • Procedures offered in the practice
    • History and physical exam admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients of all ages to correct or treat various conditions, illnesses, and injuries of the extremities, spine, and associated structures by medical, surgical, and physical means.
    • Such conditions include, but are not limited to, trauma, infections, tumors, metabolic disturbances of the musculoskeletal system, deformities, injuries, and degenerative diseases of the spine, hands, feet, knee, hip, shoulder, and elbow, and include primary and secondary muscular problems and the effects of central or peripheral nervous system lesions of the musculoskeletal system.
    • Orthopedic surgeons may provide care to patients in the intensive care setting in conformance with unit policies.
    • They may also assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services.
