DUTIES:Assembles supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures according to physicians preference cardsInspects equipment for proper working conditionFollows principles of aseptic technique and prescribed operating/procedure room proceduresAdheres to aseptic technique when opening sterile packages and preparing for the procedureArranges instruments according to given procedureConfirms that instruments work properlyMaintains availability of instruments and supplies to avoid delaysReports observed or suspected breaks in sterile technique and takes action according to policyCorrectly uses, cares for, cleans, and sterilizes instruments, supplies, and equipment as directedHandles equipment and instruments correctly to provide appropriate availability and safetyAssists in maintaining adequate supplies in the operating room for immediate access during procedureAssists in storing and stocking supplies as directedMaintains and updates instrument cards and surgeons preference cardsResponds in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and physicianDocuments patient-care records and other forms according to facility policies and proceduresAccurately advises others responsible for care of the patient about the patient s statusQuadrant is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
