Job Details Responsibilities:
- Manage all stages of litigation including depositions, discovery, drafting and arguing motions, managing client relationships, and trial preparation.
- Handle ERISA, Employee Benefits, Managed Care, and Insurance Litigation.
- Resolve insurance coverage disputes and medical provider disputes.
- Draft and review legal briefs, opinions, and other legal documents.
- Attend court appearances and effectively represent our clients.
- Provide legal advice to clients and represent them in disputes with insurance companies.
- Manage relationships with clients, opposing counsel, judges, and court staff.
- Collaborate with our legal team to develop strategies for complex litigation cases.
- Stay updated on current laws, regulations, and industry standards related to ERISA, Employee Benefits, Managed Care, and Insurance Litigation.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice law and in good standing with the state Bar.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation attorney, specifically with ERISA, Employee Benefits, Managed Care, and Insurance Litigation.
- Previous experience in judicial clerkship or as a law clerk is a plus.
- Deep understanding of health, disability, and life insurance.
- Proficiency in discovery management, brief writing, and motion practice.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Proficient in legal research and writing.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and have the ability to work independently.
- Ability to travel as required for court appearances and client meetings.
