Chef de Cuisine - Ingredient Driven Cafe

Award winning group serving fresh café items and artisanal baked goods is looking for a CDC! Sourcing from local farms and farmers’ markets, everything is made onsite using organic, high caliber ingredients with seasonal menu changes. This person should embody progressive, strong leadership and be able to drive operations forward, effecting top-quality execution and consistency from the team.

Chef de Cuisine Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all food meets the highest standards of quality and consistency
  • Develop and assist in the creation of dishes upholding the company’s commitment to using organic seasonal produce/meats/cheese/etc.
  • Continuing strong relationships with existing vendors as well as sourcing new ones, especially those that use sustainable practices
  • Proactively manage and have a firm grasp on costs and budgets
  • Progressive leadership: team development, mentorship, and creating a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction
  • Actively involved in hiring, training, development, and performance management
  • Follow and maintain best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen

Chef de Cuisine Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar position (Senior Sous Chef, Executive Sous Chef, CDC, Executive Chef)
  • Dedicated leader who is committed to serving the team with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excitement for delivering ingredient-driven high-quality food with precision and consistency and motivating others to do the same
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently without compromising quality and cultivate that work ethic amongst the team
  • Reliable adherence to operational systems/procedures and attention to detail along with organizational skills
  • Experience in P&L review, food cost and labor budgetary controls, and strict inventory
  • Flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays

Compensation includes:

  • Base salary in the $75k - 90k range
  • 100% medical coverage for the individual
