*Overview:* We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a strong mathematical background to join our team as a COBOL Developer. No prior experience with COBOL is required; we are looking for someone with a passion for learning and problem-solving, eager to dive into the world of legacy systems and software development. *Key Responsibilities:*
* *Learn COBOL Development:* You will be trained to write, maintain, and enhance COBOL applications, primarily for financial and business systems.
* *Problem Solving:* Apply mathematical and analytical skills to troubleshoot, optimize, and improve legacy systems written in COBOL.
* *System Maintenance:* Work on maintaining and enhancing existing COBOL programs, ensuring they are running efficiently and accurately.
* *Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams:* Work closely with business analysts, system architects, and other developers to understand requirements and develop solutions.
* *Documentation and Testing:* Help create documentation for software and systems, and participate in the testing process to ensure high-quality deliverables.
* *Continuous Learning:* Stay updated on emerging technology trends and be willing to expand your skills to other programming languages and technologies as needed.
*Qualifications:*
* A *Bachelor’s degree* in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field. (Teaching experience in mathematics is a plus!)
* Strong *problem-solving abilities* with a logical, structured approach to tackling challenges.
* A passion for learning new concepts, technologies, and systems. We will provide the necessary training to become proficient in COBOL.
* *Excellent communication skills* and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
* *Detail-oriented* with the ability to analyze data and perform complex calculations accurately.
* A proactive attitude, willingness to take initiative, and an eagerness to take on new challenges.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
