**Job Title:** Travel Oncology RN **Location:** Asheville, NC **Facility:** Mission Hospital – Memorial Campus **Type:** Travel Assignment (13-week contract) **Shift:** 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM --- **Job Overview:** Fidé is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in oncology for a 13-week travel contract assignment in Asheville, North Carolina. The assignment is located at Mission Hospital, which is known for providing excellent clinical care and has received numerous recognitions, including the prestigious Magnet Designation. This is a full-time travel position offering competitive pay and benefits. --- **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide direct patient care in the oncology unit (K9A) at Mission Hospital, primarily treating oncology and women's surgical patients. - Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments as required, although certifications are not mandatory. - Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to assess, plan, and implement patient care. - Provide education and support to patients and their families about cancer treatments, side effects, and coping strategies. - Monitor and assess patient condition, making critical decisions when necessary. - Use standard unit equipment and electronic medical records (EMR) system (Cerner). - Occasionally perform procedures such as pelvic exams, echocardiograms, and thoracentesis, depending on unit needs. --- **Minimum Qualifications:** - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina (compact states accepted, except PA and OH). - A minimum of 1 year of recent oncology nursing experience. - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA). - Strong communication skills, ability to work as part of a team, and a compassionate approach to patient care. --- **Preferred Qualifications:** - Chemotherapy/biotherapy certification (not required but preferred). - Previous experience with Cerner EMR. - Ability to float to other medical-surgical units as needed. --- **Work Schedule & Compensation:** - **Shift:** 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM. - **Travel Hourly Pay:** $20.00. - **Travel Stipend:** $1064.40 per week. - **Weekly Package:** $1904.40. --- **Additional Details:** - **Unit Information:** - **Unit:** Oncology/Women's Surgical (K9A) - **Number of Beds:** 24 - **Staffing:** 1 Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC), 4-6 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1 Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) per shift. - **Patient Ratios:** 1:4 or 1:5. - **Floating:** Occasional floating to other med-surg units. - **Dress Code:** Navy, white, or a combination for RNs; Galaxy Blue for CNAs. - **Location:** Mission Hospital, 509 Biltmore Ave, Asheville, NC 28801. --- **Compliance Requirements:** - Current NC RN License (compact states allowed except PA and OH). - Current AHA BLS certification. - Skills checklist from within the past 12 months. - Driver’s License. - EMR experience (please include years of experience and systems used). - Final RTO (Requested Time Off). - Resume. - Three supervisory references from the past 2 years of employment. --- **Company Overview:** Fidé is a woman-owned healthcare staffing company that specializes in providing top-notch candidates for healthcare facilities across the country.
