**Position Overview:**
Fidé is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with LTAC (Long-Term Acute Care) & Clinic experience for a 12-week contract in Durham, NC. **Minimum Requirements:**
- 2+ years of current LTAC & Clinic experience.
- Must have acute hospital experience.
- Current NC RN License (compact allowed).
- Current AHA BLS.
- Current AHA ACLS (must obtain by start date).
- Resume with full work history (no gaps).
- COVID Vaccination Card (exemptions allowed).
- Interview Availability (days and times).
- Driver’s License.
- Three Professional References.
- Final RTO (Request Time Off).

**Job Responsibilities:**
- **Nursing Care Plan & Delivery:**
- Maintain and follow nursing care plans for assigned patients.
- Supervise and guide LPNs, CNAs, and orientees in providing high-quality care.
- Collaborate with physicians in assessment, care planning, and evaluation.
- **Patient Assessments:**
- Conduct systematic assessments of patients’ physical, emotional, social, educational, and functional needs.
- Receive and process admissions/transfers and complete nursing database within 24 hours.
- Develop and update care plans with accurate assessments, diagnoses, interventions, and goals.
- **Patient Education & Counseling:**
- Educate patients and families on medical conditions, treatment plans, and care techniques.
- Make referrals to appropriate resources as needed.
- **Medication & IV Administration:**
- Administer medications and IVs as prescribed, ensuring adherence to nursing policies and procedures.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of medications, including PRN medications.
- Administer critical drip medications after completing competency training.
- **Emergency Response:**
- Handle emergency and life-threatening situations, including CPR, code blue, and medical emergencies.
- Ensure the safety of patients, staff, and the environment according to hospital policies.
- **Documentation & Record-Keeping:**
- Ensure complete, accurate, and timely documentation in patient medical records.
- Provide discharge instructions and complete interagency transfer forms.
- **Supervision & Leadership:**
- Provide leadership in patient care to assigned personnel.
- Prioritize activities and effectively delegate tasks to LPNs and aides.
- **Quality Improvement & Compliance:**
- Participate in quality improvement activities and adhere to hospital policies.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols, including hand hygiene and equipment cleaning.
- **Professional Development:**
- Maintain and update skills necessary for quality patient care.
- Continue education to maintain licensure and certification.
- **Customer Service & Communication:**
- Demonstrate excellent communication with patients, visitors, and staff members.
- Promote a customer-service attitude in every interaction.
